Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to your information when you join the Stet CV waitlist at stetcv.com.

Last updated: [DATE OF PUBLISHING]

1. Who we are

  • Data controller: Timothy Houghton (founder), trading as Stet CV
  • Contact: hello@stetcv.com
  • ICO registration: ZC140847

As the controller, we decide how your information is used under UK data protection law.

2. What we collect

When you join the waitlist we collect:

  • your email address
  • a record of your consent: when you ticked the box and the wording you agreed to
  • which version of the page you saw and the link you came from (for example, a LinkedIn post or a Reddit thread). We use this to see which messages and channels work.
  • your answers to our short follow-up questions, if you choose to answer them (what kind of role you’re looking for, roughly how many applications you’ve made recently, and whether you’d like to try the beta).

Our email provider, Brevo, may also record whether you open our emails or click links in them.

We don’t ask for your CV, your job history or any other details on this page. The waitlist is for email updates only.

Visits to the page. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t store your IP address: it records things like which page was viewed, the website you came from, your country and your device type, and it can’t identify you.

The video. Our video is hosted on YouTube. It doesn’t load until you press play. Once you do, YouTube (Google) may set cookies or similar technology on your device, under Google’s privacy policy.

Our website host. Vercel, which hosts the page, keeps short-term technical logs (including IP addresses) to keep the site running and secure.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email, or by emailing hello@stetcv.com.

4. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use these services to run the waitlist:

Service What it does for us Where your data is held
Brevo Stores the waitlist and sends our emails European Union
Vercel Hosts the website and counts visits without cookies United States and other regions
YouTube (Google) Plays the video, only if you press play Google’s global infrastructure

Each acts on our instructions under a data processing agreement, except YouTube, which acts under Google’s own terms when you choose to play the video.

5. Transfers outside the UK

Vercel stores data in the United States. When your information goes there, it’s protected by [the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework / the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the provider’s standard contractual clauses — CONFIRM PER PROVIDER].

6. How long we keep it

We keep your email address, consent record, page version, source link and follow-up answers until whichever comes first:

  • you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, or
  • six months after the waitlist closes.

After that we delete it. We may keep anonymous totals (for example, “40% of sign-ups came from LinkedIn”) because they can’t identify you.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct it
  • ask us to delete it
  • withdraw your consent at any time
  • object to how we use it
  • ask us to limit how we use it.

To do any of these, email hello@stetcv.com. We’ll reply within one month. It’s free.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

8. Age

The waitlist is for people looking for work. It isn’t aimed at anyone under 16.

9. Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this notice and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll email you before it takes effect.

10. When Stet launches

The Stet product will handle CV information, which this waitlist does not. Before you can use the product, we’ll give you a separate notice explaining how that works. It won’t change anything about how your waitlist information is used.
